The way I view Love Spells is that they are requests for what you want. Where a love spell fails it can often be put down to being too specific in your request. You cannot bend people to love you, you must be living a life of love to attract live. You cannot decide for someone else who to love only for yourself.
According to Filipino folk belief, gayuma is a love potion that is used to attract a mate. The potion's magical property is said to work best when taken by the potential partner, often mixed in a drink. As with any other mystical folk item, the effectiveness of a gayuma only works if the caster believes in its power. The use of gayuma today is usually associated with failed courtship, unrequited love, or secret admiration.
It is interesting how every culture has it's own version of love spells and love potions. All we want, all we need, is love.
For those of you searching for love this is a great little "easy love spell". For those of you not familiar with the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) then all you have to do is put the video on and follow Brads instructions.

Once you have chosen a space for your Love Altar then it is beneficial to cleanse the area and create harmonious energies for the altar space. To cleanse you can use Sage or Sagebrush Smudge
Gather everything you need for your altar.
Place everything according to your preference, you can always change it later.
Create a ceremony to sanctify your altar, use incense and sound to do this and call upon your deity to bless the altar.
Ensure you repeat the ceremony once a month so that your Altar is regularly blessed. And be sure to connect with love at your Love Altar daily, it's a great place to pray, meditate and cast love spells.
You've just cast your love spell, you have hopes and are quite excited that you might soon meet the love of your life or discover that someone you already know is the one. What do you do next?
If you sit at home and wait you probably won't be meeting them very soon. Where can you go? What can you do?
First things, first. Ensure that you are practicing meditation or visualisation, this will facilitate the continued connection with the source of the magick that you have used for your spell. The reason for doing this is to provide that when the source gives you a nudge, such as an idea to go shopping or to go to a particular park, then you'll know to go there because it's the spell working.
Second things, second. Actually go there! Make the effort to go out and then once you're there follow your intuition and do what you feel you are drawn to do. If you're not sure just find a seat or a bench and sit for a while until you are drawn to go to the next place. Or go to a place you find inspiring wherever you are and lose yourself in that place until you feel the urge to move on.
Third things, third. Smile and keep your head up. This ensures that your energy is attractive and that should you happen across someone in a similar state you may well connect. If you are feeling down then you may find that just going to somewhere you love will provide the boost you need to raise your energy level.
Fourth things, fourth. Interact with people, you'll know if you are connecting even if the conversation doesn't flow directly. Having continued your connection with the source you will will intuitively know in your interactions whether you are connecting. It may be love at first sight or it may take longer to build the connection.
Anyway, after you've cast your love spell, to help it work you need to take intuition based action and get out there and interact with others. You might well be advised to do this with a best friend in tow or at least tell someone where you're off to if you are nervous of going out alone.
Spoiler Warning!! If you haven't seen the film Inception and intend to then you may want to read this blog entry later as it contains some content which reveals certain parts of the film's plot.
In Inception there is a basic premiss that it is possible to enter into people's minds through their dreams and that once in there it is possible to access their secrets through influencing them within the dream state. Taking this a step further the hero Cobb is engaged to plant an idea in someone's head in order to influence their future behaviour.
To me, that is one way to look at casting a love spell. If you are casting a love spell on a specific person then what you are attempting to do is influence another person's choices by magical or energetic or other worldly means. You are attempting to plant an idea in their mind that you are hoping will grow into love for you. Or you may be sending out a more general love spell to attract someone who is soulmate without prescribing a particular person but aiming to create the necessary energy/magic to bring them into your life and allows you to recognise each other. I strongly believe that the second approach is more likely to bring you success and infinitely more likely to result in long-term happiness and love.
Back to the film (SPOILER ALERT!), in Inception Cobb admits to planting an idea in his wife's head as part of the dream-work they were doing. His wife was convinced that they should stay in the dream-state and he planted an idea which he hoped would help her to return to the "real" world. Unfortunately she took this idea, and because of the way she interpreted it, she could not live back in "reality" when they returned.
I believe that trying to influence specific people by way of spells is not the best approach to take and could lead to a similar "misinterpretation" of the spells intention. If you approach spells from the stance of "I am here, I am open to love and I will accept and embrace my soulmate when the time is right", then I believe that you will truly meet your soulmate. If you do focus on a specific person as your target for love then you are more likely to experience some sort of rebellion, from them or the universal energy, as you are trying to shape the world around you rather than use the universally available energy to attract your soulmate in whatever form you need to be happy. I guarantee that the universe, your god/goddess, etc. know better than you who your soulmate is and when you are ready to connect.

Are you trying love spells and finding that they are not working for you?
It can be frustrating, can't it? You set the spell up correctly, you make sure that the time to cast is auspicious and you really feel that you are connecting with your higher power and nothing seems to happen. There are many reasons why this might be but today I am going to consider one in particular.
You may find that your love spells are not working because you don't have room in your life for another person!
"No! No!" you say, "I want one now!!"
Consider for a moment what choices are you making, or are you prepared to make, to allow room for your soulmate to come into your life?
At the moment maybe you have a great hobby, a wonderful bunch of mates that you go out with loads and you're totally committed to your job. Oh and you also love a certain soap opera and a comedy series and also like nights in by yourself with a good film. How much time do you have for your soulmate?
Time for a quick exercise: Go get a piece of ribbon, not your favourite one, as you'll be chopping it up (a piece of string will do or a length of paper).
This piece of ribbon, or similar represents your lifetime, so first you need to decide how long you're going to live. (Hint: if you pick 100 you may find the next bit easier!.)
Cut off a piece that represents how many years you've already lived (e.g if you're 35 then cut of an amount representing 35% of your length of ribbon).
If you sleep on average 7 hours a day then that's 30% of your day gone so take off another 30% from your ribbon.
If you work 8 hours a day, five days a week, then that's about 20% of each year gone on work until you retire, so remove another chunk that represents your work-time.
The cutting doesn't have to be precise, just as close as you can make it.
Keep going by removing lengths representing hobby time, TV time and anything that take up a decent chunk of time in your normal schedule. You can leave things like holidays and hobbies that you think you would share with your soulmate on as you plan to spend that time in a quality manner with your soulmate. What you have left is an approximation of the time you have left from your "hundred years" to spend with your soulmate. If it's tiny compared to the piece of ribbon you started with then you need to consider what you might let go of to create the space you need for your soulmate. Once you have done this then you will be ready to cast your Love Spells once again and you will find that things will start to happen . . .
